"Even today there’s still a need for that kind of community building. That has to go on.”
The centre’s former manager, Ray King, gave an insight into the city’s vibrant music scene back then when speaking to music fans who had gathered outside the building on Lower Holyhead Road.
He said: “If we had known what was going to happen and that this place would go down in history we would have started taking notes and making diaries.
"We were just having fun. ”
Neol Davies, of Coventry ska band The Selecter, also made an appearance at the latest city spot to proudly bear a plaque on the 2-Tone Trail.
