Pink announces Coventry Ricoh Arena concert

Nov 3 2009

Exclusive by Duncan Gibbons

FEISTY rock chick Pink is playing Coventry’s Ricoh Arena next summer, the Telegraph can reveal.

The Grammy Award-winning artist – whose hits include Get The Party Started and So What – is bringing her dazzling Funhouse Tour to the city on Thursday, June 24.

It follows this year’s successful Oasis and Take That concerts which helped boost the Ricoh’s reputation as an international music venue, and is set to attract yet another sell-out crowd of more than 30,000 fans.

Oasis, Bon Jovi, the Red Hot Chilli Peppers and Rod Stewart have all previously played at the stadium.

Daniel Gidney, chief executive of the Ricoh Arena, said: “This is great news for the Ricoh and for Coventry.

“We have always set our stall out to attract a wide variety of live performers to the Ricoh and Pink is one of the biggest names in live music.
