Police hunt for trouserless arsonist in Whitnash

Oct 21 2009

POLICE are hunting a trouserless arsonist following a bizarre blaze in Whitnash.

Officers were called to the recreation area in Acre Close, Whitnash at about 7.20pm on Monday, where a fire had been started on a sports court.

The court, wire fencing and an electric junction box were all damaged in the blaze.

Among the items left burning on the court were a pair of men’s jeans, which police believe may have belonged to the arsonist.

A spokesperson for Warwickshire Police said: “Did a member of your family return home last night without his trousers or did you see anyone walking through Whitnash only partially dressed?”

Anyone with information should call 01926 415000 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111.
