A LATE strike from David Clarkson rescued Bristol City and denied Coventry their first Coca-Cola Championship victory in their last five games.
David Bell's first Championship goal of the season just after half-time looked to have given the Sky Blues a fortunate victory.
But substitute Clarkson fired home eight minutes from time to salvage a point for the Robins, who missed a hatful of chances to secure all three points.
The home side had the better of the opening exchanges and on-loan striker Patrick Agyemang tried his luck from long range but failed to test Keiren Westwood.
James McPake had the Sky Blues' first strike at goal but Dean Gerken was never going to be troubled by the full-back's 25-yard drive.
Highly-rated Coventry goalkeeper Westwood had to be alert to keep out Jamie McAllister's left-foot strike with his feet after 31 minutes as the home side pressed for the opening goal.
Marvin Elliott had a chance to put Gary Johnson's side in front just before half-time but he failed to get enough power on his shot and Westwood made the save.
Clinton Morrison was off target with a 25-yard drive moments later but the first half always seemed destined to finish goalless.
But the deadlock was broken just a minute into the second half and it was the visitors who struck first.
