Revamped deli opens in Kenilworth

Nov 16 2004

Prime retail premises in the heart of Kenilworth have been transformed into a high-class delicatessen.

Number 5 Warwick Road was let through Coventry-based estate agents Shortland Horne to Ian Emery, who completely revamped the interior before opening last week.

The shop, called Emery's of Kenilworth, sells a range of freshly baked cakes, home cooked meats, handmade fudges and chocolates, honeys, chutneys and quality preserves. It sits on one of the town's busiest streets and is passed by thousands of shop-pers every day - many of whom have already stopped off to sample the tasty food.

Ian said: "Kenilworth is a great place to be opening a new deli and the demand for our food has exceeded our expectations.

“Many people who are merely passing take time to

stop and look in the window, before coming in to sample our produce."

The shop, which has residential space above, is situated near Halifax bank and the frozen food chain Iceland.

Cameron Thomson, of Shortland Horne, said: "Warwick Road is the retail thoroughfare of the town and its location close to a number of major national companies makes it a perfect spot for this type of business.

“It is a good sized property at 355 sq ft and, with a double-bedroom apartment upstairs, it was always going to be an attractive prospect for a tenant."
