A DIGGER enthusiast has been selected to officially open the new JCB Young Drivers Zone at Hatton Farm Village, near Warwick.

Four-year-old Joshua Mason has had a passion for diggers, trucks and construction vehicles ever since uttering his first word – ‘tractor’. Now his enthusiasm has won him the enviable position of being the first to climb aboard mini-JCB diggers and tractors at the unveiling of the new attraction on Saturday May 23 – the start of the Wonderful Whitsun holiday event.

The JCB Young Drivers Zone will provide youngsters with a child-sized track with ramps, tunnels, traffic lights and even a fuelling station.

Mum, Sophie Mason from Leamington, said: “Josh’s passion is verging on obsession! We have tried to introduce other interests but he just loves everything to do with diggers and we can never walk past a construction site without checking them out. He knows every manufacturer, make, model, and colour and is especially interested in how they work. He used to spend hours on the tractor trek at Hatton but this new attraction is even more up his street.”

The Wonderful Whitsun programme will also include demonstrations of sheep shearing by one of the top UK sheep shearers Clifford Mitchell, and bouncing agile pooches will be showing off their skills in dog agility shows. Goats will also be taking over from Hatton’s famous racing sheep for a special spring appearance on the racing track.

NB:  For price details, the format is:  under-2s, undHatton Farm Village is at Hatton Country World, located just off the A4177 between Warwick and Solihull. For further information call 01926 843411 or visit www.hattonworld.com.
