SO after 51 weeks in charge of Coventry City Football Club the curtain is drawn on Iain Dowie and Tim Flower's tenure.
Victories against Manchester United and Blackburn in the League and FA Cup respectively were not enough to keep the pair in their job as supporters struggled to understand the team's inconsistency.
The past twelve months have been a torrid time for everyone connected to the Club, with failed takeovers, a transfer embargo and the file made for the intent for the Club to go into administration perhaps Iain Dowie's sacking is due more to circumstance than a true reflection of their managerial skills and I wish them success in the future.
The new owners of Coventry City now need to look to the future and who they want to see in charge of first team affairs. This may be Ray Ranson's first opportunity to go through that process, but unfortunately it is an all too familiar situation for Sky Blue supporters. Last year Paul Fletcher spoke to supporters about the need to bring stability to Coventry and to stop the constant chopping and changing of the management team, it would seem however that SISU and Ray Ranson do not feel that Iain Dowie's team were the right people to move the Club forward in this new era.
With £22million being invested throughout the Football Club and SISU wanting a return on that investment, supporters now have to wait and see who enters the revolving door next. Rumours are already speculating about who that will be and, as with everything in football, everyone has a different opinion on who that should be.
Whoever comes in should they be on a twelve month rolling contract so they don't cost us as much to sack next year, or will we, finally, get the right man to take us back to the Premiership so that supporters can have the success they deserve and SISU can have the return on their investment?
