Coventry Conversations - a look at Kenya

Jan 4 2008

In light of the recent troubles in Kenya, Coventry University has organised a Coventry Conversations special on Thursday 10 January to look at the reasons behind the political unrest and subsequent violence.

The calm, democratic jewel in the East African crown is up in flames. There has been a disputed election and a President in power who has attracted international concern.

What does it all mean and do ex Pats living there need to be worried about the state of the country and their own safety?

Hoping to shed light on the whole issue are Professor John Oucho from the Centre for Research in Ethnic Relations at Warwick University and Dr. Fred Mudhai, a senior lecturer in Media and Communication at Coventry University.

They will be also be looking at how the Western media are reporting on the story and if it is an accurate picture.

The talk takes place on Thursday 10 January at 1pm in room ETG 34 of the Ellen Terry Building, Coventry University, Jordan Well.

It is a free event and is open to the public.
