SOLIHULL THEATRE COMPANY
THE HOT MIKADO
SOLIHULL ARTS COMPLEX, 12-17 MAY 2008
A SMOKING new version of an old classic promises theatregoers a flaming good night out as Solihull Theatre Company brings Hot Mikado to Solihull Arts Complex. The show – an updated version of Gilbert and Sullivan’s Mikado – runs from 12 to 17 May.
Set in 1940s Japan, this high-energy production features much of the original Mikado score, giving well-known songs such as Three Little Maids a jazzy reworking. The result is a fast-paced, highly entertaining show, taking in a wealth of musical styles from jazz riffs and cool soul to classic vaudeville.
This will be Hot Mikado’s premiere at Solihull Arts Complex. It’s another first for Solihull Theatre Company, which was the first company to perform Sweeney Todd at the Arts Complex in 2006.Tickets are priced at £12.50 (£10 concessions Monday and Tuesday only). However, a special group booking rate of £8 per ticket is available to groups of 10 or more booking for the Monday night (subject to availability).
Groups should contact hotmikado@hotmail.co.uk For all other booking enquiries, contact the Box Office on 0121 704 6962.
