Stars line up for Coventry dates

COMEDY legends Cannon and Ball and former Boyzone singer Shane Lynch are set to appear in Coventry. The stars will be performing as part of the Joy in the City campaign run by the Methodist Central Hall, in Warwick Lane. Throughout 2008 the church hopes to bring a star of stage or screen to play at the venue on the first Saturday of every month. The first Joy in the City night will feature Solihull charismatic pastor and founder of the Renewal Christian Centre Dr David E Carr. This will be followed up on February 2 with the former Boyzone singer Shane Lynch and then by the 1980s Comedy double act Cannon and Ball on March 1. Story continues ADVERTISEMENT George Tee, of Jubilee Church Coventry, said: “You don’t have to be a Christian to attend these free events. “Come and hear how God has changed these people’s lives or come along if you are sick or know someone who is sick as we believe in a God who heals today.” At each event, time will be given to pray for Coventry’s sick and ill. Anyone who has an illness or knows someone who has an illness is encouraged to come along and let people pray with and for them. Pastor Peter Earle, from the Renewal Christian Centre, said: “Over the last few years we have seen God heal all sorts of illnesses, from terminal cancers to chronic arthritis and deafness.
