New initiative will give a better chance of survival to businesses

MICRO-BUSINESSES are to be given a better chance of survival in Coventry and Warwickshire, thanks to a new initiative.
The Coventry and Warwickshire Chamber of Commerce has set up its own Small Business Club to help sole traders or businesses employing three people or fewer, whether they are new or established.
It replaces the organisation’s Enterprise Club and will offer more benefits to small, fledgling companies in the area.
Joining the club will cost just £50 per year (plus VAT).
It will also allow members to tap into Chamber services such as member-to-member offers, networking events, representation, newsletters and discounted rates on services plus products such as electronic terminals for credit card payments.
Keely Hancox, of Chamber’s Small Business Club, said: “Times are tough economically, so very young and very small companies need all the help they can get.
“The Enterprise Club proved to be very popular for several years.
“But we felt the time was right to bring that service into the 21st century and offer businesses of this ilk the benefits and services they need to help them grow.
“It will allow them to benefit from a range of services that full Chamber members receive.
“The idea is that they can develop into stronger, more established businesses – which will not only benefit their business, but the local economy as a whole.
“In time they then may want to progress and join full Chamber membership where they could take advantage of further services we offer.”
