Chance to grab a £1 furniture bargain in Nuneaton

Jan 13 2012

NUNEATON’S Second Chance Furniture Re-Use will be opening its doors for four hours on Saturday for its second £1 sale.

There will be a large selection of items on sale for just £1 including suites, dining tables and chairs, beds and other household items.

Normal delivery charges will apply and it is hoped that many of the deliveries will be made on the day of the sale.

Second Chance is well-known for providing affordable furniture primarily for those in financial need and is part of the national charity, Chapter One.

Project manager Peter Whitehead said: “The sensational £1 sale is back by popular demand. In August we were overwhelmed by the response. It helped us to a monthly record of 17.5 tonnes of furniture being saved from landfill.

“The items on sale are genuinely priced at £1. We realise that the credit crunch is hitting hard and this is a good way to redistribute some furniture that we have had in the showroom for some time.

“Our aim is to help local families who are perhaps setting up home for the first time or looking to replace essential household items. The sale items will available in the rear part of the warehouse while our other stock will be on sale in the showroom as usual.

“Our other stock is of course discounted by 25% (items over £15) for those on means tested benefits. This is a superb chance to grab yourself a bargain.”

The project is well-known for its furniture and white electrical goods but there is a wider range of items for sale - bric-a-brac, cycles, curtains and other soft furnishings, in addition to used books.

If you have furniture, larger white electrical items or cycles that would be suitable for re-sale then call 024 7632 6189 to discuss suitability and to arrange a collection.

Alternatively, furniture can be taken to the warehouse if donors have the means to do this.
