Heartache as thieves steal grieving son's third bike from Nuneaton

A GRIEVING son has had his new scooter stolen just a week after laying his mum to rest.
Daniel O’Connor was still reeling from the funeral of his mother Claire when he discovered his black Yamaha Cygnus, which he had owned for just two days, had been stolen. And to make matters worse it is the third scooter the 20-year-old has had taken in the space of just eight months.
The latest incident saw the scooter stolen on the night of February 4 and came just a week after Daniel had been a pall bearer at his mum’s funeral.
Daniel said: “With the snow I couldn’t drive the scooter anymore, so I put the chain and the lock on it. I went to sleep at my mate’s house and when I woke up it had gone. I’m just not a very lucky person.”
Claire’s body was found in a parked Ford Focus car in Montana Walk 24 hours after attending a New Year’s Eve party at The Green Bear. A post mortem examination showed she had neck injuries.
Her boyfriend, Aaron Mann, 31, has been charged with her murder and has been remanded in custody pending an appearance at Coventry Crown Court on April 12.
