Bedworth United are still on course for league success

CHRISTMAS may be over but Kieron Brehon and Ashley Robinson produced crackers to keep Bedworth in the play-off shake-up. United should already have been in front after Ashley Spencer combined neatly with Nicky Pollard but shot tamely at Joe Mellings. But on 24 minutes, Robinson lifted a ball in to Brehon who brought it down before lashing in a shot from 12 yards. Robinson doubled the lead eight minutes later using his strength to hold off Craig Milligan before unleashing a half-volley from the right corner of the box that simply flew past Mellings’ despairing dive. Spencer and Robinson were both denied after the break by fine saves from Mellings while the latter whistled another shot inches over but in truth the result was never in doubt.
