HOT-SHOT Michael Murray knocked Bedworth off the top of the Evo-Stik Southern League Central with a superb hat-trick.
The division’s top goal-scorer took his tally for the season to 17 to earn Uxbridge a shock win and shatter Bedworth’s unbeaten home league record.
Murray headed Uxbridge ahead after 20 minutes from their first attack after Tom Bates had hit a post from a free-kick for Bedworth.
Bates provided the cross from another free-kick for left-back Nathan Haines to head the equaliser in the 27th minute.
Bedworth missed stalwart Ian Roper, out through suspension, and poor defensive play allowed Murray to restore Uxbridge’s lead with a fierce shot just four minutes later.
Murray completed a memorable hat-trick in the 52nd minute when he netted direct from a 20-yard free-kick and 10 minutes later Stuart Farrell headed the Middlesex side’s fourth goal to complete victory.
