LEADERS Loughborough Students showed why they are the team to beat with an eight-try pummelling of Nuneaton.
The first try was a penalty converted by Stuart Hall, before Lee Chapman responded with a drop goal. Hall scored and converted the Students’ second try before Tom Bliss added another.
Nuns threatened the line on 32 minutes but Will Cave was penalised and yellow carded. From the penalty, the visitors broke and Craig Holland broke two tackles to score for a 24-3 half-time lead.
The second half followed a similar pattern with Nuns unable to keep the Students at bay and the visitors threatening to score.
Alex Davies scored from a kick ahead with the conversion missed by Chris Sermon, taking over kicking duties from Hall.
