SPEEDY three quarter Elliott Brown grabbed the headlines with his 12th try of a prolific season, as Nuneaton claimed a comfortable win against disappointing Otley.
Although the Nuns again failed to produce a try bonus point, the four points banked moves them towards the safety of mid-table.
The visitors, still seeking an away win this season, got off to the best possible start. When Nuns failed to claim the opening kick off, slick handling released full back Ollie Denton who raced to the corner.
Fly half Lee Chapman put the hosts on the board in the 18th minute with a well-struck penalty goal.
Although the visitors lost hooker Ben Steele to the sin bin before the interval, Nuneaton were forced to wait until the 46th minute to claim the lead for the first time, when Brown finished strongly following Luke Burrow’s thrust.
Chapman added the extras, and the fly half was on the mark again when Otley were caught offside.
With their forwards now dominant, the hosts sealed victory with a second converted score, when flanker Arron Turner was driven over from close range three minutes from time.
