DETERMINATION, fitness and second-half tries from Nick Smith and Andy Murray gave Nuns a win over Luctonians.
This was a fourth win in five for Nuns and, if this form can be maintained, their relegation fears will quickly dissolve.
Nuns’ fly-half Jack Jolly kicked four penalties in the opening half-hour. But Lucs looked dangerous, and it was no surprise when full back Charlie Meredith finished a flowing move shortly before the break, with John Morris adding the extras.
Nuns’ forwards reasserted their authority soon after the restart, when they marched a drive an incredible 35 metres. Skipper Smith touched down, and Jolly converted.
The visitors powered back into it with two converted Dan Smith scores during Matt Aston’s sinbinning. But Nuns’ winger Murray burst over, and the visitors’ fate was sealed when player coach Alex Davidson was sent off eight minutes from time.
