Grand Theft Auto IV (xBox 360, PlayStation 3. RRP s49.99. Rockstar Games)
WELCOME to the land of opportunity, intense violence and greed. This is Liberty City.
GTA IV is the most anticipated game in the history of video games, and what a game it has turned out to be.
You play Niko Bellic, ex-soldier and general badass who goes from taxi cab driver to gun toting assassin on his rise to power.
After playing for about 10 hours I feel I have only just scratched the surface; the amount of detail that has gone into creating this living, breathing city is unreal.
There is so much to do aside from the main missions from doing stunt jumps to shooting all of the pigeons around the city, plus the social side of the game.
You have to network with people from going to strip clubs and drinking or taking out dates for a bite to eat or take in a show.
These chapters are intregral parts of the gameplay.
The graphics look fantastic and when it starts to rain and you see the reflection of the city it makes you pull the handbrake in the car you have just jacked, do a 360 and just stare in wonder. While firing a machine gun of course.
The only slight weakness this fantastic game has is the shooting side of things, it's just a little clunky with the new duck and cover system but it's only slight.
Personally there is nothing I like better than getting chased by the cops, dropping a grenade out of the window and watching them explode.
Overall this a massive game with loads to do.
I don't think I will be seeing much of the sun in these coming months. I've got a city to liberate.
