New courses aim to help budding writers

CHILDREN’S author Ann Evans is setting up two new creative writing workshops to share the craft that has resulted in her having have nine novels and well over 1,000 articles published in the last 15 years.

Ann who worked at the Coventry Telegraph as a feature writer will be running two 10-week courses starting in September - writing for profit and pleasure and writing great fiction.

The courses are targeted primarily at adults keen to write, either with the hope of getting published, or who want to be able to write creatively for their own enjoyment.

“The writing for profit and pleasure course will cover getting started, finding your audience, presentation of work, market research, interview techniques, research, editing your work and much more. “

Writing great fiction will cover topics such as finding story ideas, plotting, creating believable characters, dialogue, creating mood and atmosphere, pace, presentation, editing your work and tips on finding a market for your work.”

Writing for profit and pleasure is from Monday September 7 at Tysall’s Photography Studio on Croft Road from 2pm to 4.30pm or 6pm to 8.30pm. The fee is £69, refreshments included.
