The firm has applied for full planning permission for a depot for Home Delivery Network, including offices, garages for lorries and a fuelling station.
That would be on the northern part of the site and would lead to 450 jobs being created within the first year of operation, rising to 650 after three years.
Trenport has also applied for out-line planning permission for warehousing and general industrial factories on the rest of the site.
That would create between 1,400 and 2,750 jobs depending on the final number and size of factories and units built. Trenport will look for a developer and is hoping to sell the land on once it gets planning permission.
A new roundabout on the A423 Oxford Road is being proposed as a new access for this second development.
A spokesman for Trenport Investments said : "The demolition will carry on to clear the site.
"I think the latest information is that the planning application will go before the borough council in February."
